| So these dudes were
dancing in a country where its not legal to dance. Ok maybe
they weren't dancing. They were moving to the music.
Isn't that dancing? This group of men sat on their
fishing boat while I took photos of them. I
looked further up the corniche. I thought to myself that if they gave
chase I could outrun them to my hotel. They were
wearing dresses after all. Walking through the market in the old town I
realized how old the town really was. I thought about buying
lots of things and then I thought about carrying it
home. I didn't buy anything. I did take pictures though.
The city had more cranes than it did sky scrapers. Who is going to
fill that place up? Have I already said that? I had to
wear long sleeves and long pants in unbelievable hot
weather. Did you notice that most of the pictures
are either early morning or at night? It was too hot to be out doors
during the day. I spent my time in shopping malls.
Since the Qataris don't wear anything but
traditional clothing the only thing that really sold well in the
malls were sunglasses, watches and accessories in general. The normal
clothes boutiques that you see in most malls were definitely
empty and seemed to be going out of business rapidly. |
